The permissions table in Crews is organized by module, not by user. Each column represents a permission category, such as Documents, Materials, or Statements. Selecting the arrow next to a category expands more columns to show the individual checkboxes for specific actions within that category.
Turning on a category doesn't enable every action within it. Each checkbox within a category is independent, so a user can have some actions enabled and others turned off within the same module.
Note: To change any permissions, the editing user must be a Company Manager and have the Can Edit Permissions checkbox enabled under their own Crews permissions. For step-by-step instructions on updating permissions, see the Managing User Permissions topic.
Reading Yes, No, and Partial
Role rows (for example, Company Manager, Company Crew, or Subs) don't have checkboxes. They show Yes, No, or Partial as plain text, summarizing the checkbox settings for every user under that role.
Yes means every user in that role has the checkbox selected for that action.
No means every user in that role has the checkbox cleared for that action.
Partial means users in that role have a mix, some selected, some not.
The role row is a summary only. It can't be selected directly. To change what a role can do, update the checkboxes for the individual users listed underneath it.
Each user row has a checkbox for each action. Selecting a checkbox means the user can perform that action. A cleared checkbox means they can't.
Permissions With Similar Names
Some permissions sound alike but control entirely separate things. Turning one on doesn't turn on the other:
View order status (Digital Tools) controls order status visibility only. View quotes/orders/deliveries (Materials) controls a separate screen.
Request (Catalog) lets a user request catalog items. Request quote (Materials) lets a user request a materials quote.
Pay invoices and View invoices (both Statements) are independent. Paying doesn't require viewing access, and viewing doesn't grant payment access.
View and make selections and Lock selections (both Configure) are also independent.
