Marking Up a Document

Learn how to mark up and navigate documents with the viewer toolbar.

Use Markup Tools

Users can mark up the same document simultaneously. To use the markup tools:

  1. Open a document to launch the integrated viewer.

  2. Mark up the document using the options on the toolbar.

Use the Toolbar

Navigate the Document

    • View Options

      • Thumbnails. Show a small preview of each page in the document

      • Outline. Show the document's table of contents, if one exists

      • Annotations. See all markup added to the document

      • Bookmarks. List saved bookmarks for the document

      • Signatures. List signatures added to the document

      • Attachments. List files attached to the document

    • Page. Label the page navigation controls

    • Previous Page arrow. Select to move back one page

    • Page number field. Enter a page number to jump directly to that page

    • Next Page arrow. Select to move forward one page

    • Page count. Show the current page number and the total number of pages

Adjust the View

    • Select Multiple Annotations. Select to choose several annotations at once for moving, resizing, or deleting them together

    • Pan Mode. Select to drag and move around a zoomed-in page

    • Zoom Out. Select to decrease the page magnification

    • Zoom In. Select to increase the page magnification

    • Rotate View Clockwise. Select to rotate the page view 90 degrees clockwise. myBLDR saves the orientation you last used, so the document opens in that same orientation the next time you view it.

    • Fit Page. Select to fit the full page width in the viewer window

Draw and Highlight

    • Drawing Options

      • Drawing. Select to sketch freehand lines on the document

      • Freeform Highlight. Select to highlight an irregular, freehand area

      • Text Highlighter. Select to highlight a section of text

      • Eraser. Select to remove drawings or highlights

    • Sign. Select to add a signature to the document

Insert Objects

Note: Fillable PDF forms can be filled out and edited directly in the document viewer. Field values entered into the form display correctly in myBLDR.

    • Image Options

      • Image. Select to insert an image file into the document

      • Stamp. Select to add a predefined stamp to the document

      • Link. Select to insert a hyperlink into the document

    • Note. Select to add a comment to a specific spot on the document

    • Text Options

      • Text. Select to add a text box to the document

      • Callout. Select to add a text box with a pointer line to a specific spot on the document

    • Line & Shape Options

      • Line. Select to draw a straight line

      • Arrow. Select to draw a line with an arrowhead

      • Rectangle. Select to draw a rectangle

      • Ellipse. Select to draw an ellipse

      • Polygon. Select to draw a closed shape with straight sides

      • Cloudy Polygon. Select to draw a closed, cloud-edged shape

      • Polyline. Select to draw a connected series of straight line segments

Manage the Document

    • Print. Select to print the document

    • Document Editor. Select to edit the document's pages

    • Document Crop. Select to crop the document's pages

    • Search Document. Select to search for text within the document

    • Export. Select to download a copy of the document

Undo or Redo Changes

    • Undo. Select to reverse the last change

    • Redo. Select to reapply a change that was undone

Note: Icon names and available tools may vary by document type and user
