Overview
AppWright is a web-based project management and communication platform designed for the truss and building materials industry. It helps truss manufacturers manage jobs from quote to delivery by centralizing project communications, task tracking, file storage, and scheduling in a single platform. The myBLDR integration connects project information across the two systems, eliminating manual data entry and automatically keeping job status, documents, and timelines synchronized.
This article explains the two workflows for connecting myBLDR tasks to AppWright jobs (job requests and job handshakes) and how status updates sync between the systems.
Job Requests vs Job Handshakes
The integration supports two workflows for connecting myBLDR tasks to AppWright jobs:
Job Request. Creates a new job in AppWright when no job number exists yet. Use this when starting a new design project. For more information, see the Creating an AppWright Job Request topic.
Job Handshake. Links to an existing AppWright job by entering the job number. Use this when the AppWright job was already created outside of myBLDR. For more information, see the Creating an AppWright Job Handshake topic.
What Syncs Between Systems
When a job status is updated in AppWright, certain data points automatically sync back to myBLDR:
Job status. Always syncs.
User assignment. Syncs to myBLDR only if the myBLDR user assignment field is empty. If a user with a matching email address exists in myBLDR, that user is assigned. Otherwise, a new user is created.
Design ETA. Syncs to myBLDR only if the design ETA field in myBLDR is empty. AppWright's due date becomes the myBLDR design ETA. No other date changes sync from AppWright to myBLDR.
The myBLDR task status automatically changes to "Sent to Sales" if the AppWright status value contains a specific trigger string. This trigger string is defined at the team assignment level and defaults to "Quote Completed" but can be customized.
