Can't Open a Document
Issue: A document won't open in myBLDR.
Solution: The integrated viewer supports only PDF and DXF file formats. If a PDF or DXF file won't open, the filename may be missing its extension. Add the correct file extension—such as .pdf—to the end of the file name, then try again.
Can't Open a Document After Renaming It
Issue: A document can't be opened after being renamed.
Solution: The file extension may have been removed when the document was renamed. Add the correct file extension to the end of the file name—for example, .pdf for a PDF document.
Upload Fails with a "Not Supported for Security Reasons" Message
Issue: A file upload fails, and the error names the file and says it isn't supported for security reasons.
Solution: myBLDR blocks uploads by file extension rather than only allowing a fixed set of approved types. A file with any of the following extensions is rejected regardless of size or content: .zip, .exe, .php, .asp, .aspx, .jsp, .py, .sh, .bat, .cmd, .dll, .msi, .jar, .swf, .htm, .html, .css, .js, .sql, .mdb, .vbs, .phtml, .rb, .cgi, .ps1, .psm1, .msh, .msh1, .msh2, .mshxml, .msh1xml, .msh2xml, .scf, .lnk, .ws, .wsf, .wsc, .jse, .wsh, .ps2, .psc1, .psc2.
Note: Rename or convert the file to a supported format, such as .pdf, .docx, or .xlsx, then upload it again.
Large File Won't Upload
Issue: A file fails to upload and the cause isn't clear.
Solution: myBLDR doesn't set its own file size limit; the effective ceiling comes from the underlying storage platform's default, which is large enough that size alone rarely causes an upload to fail. Check the file extension against the blocked list above first. If several files are uploaded at the same time, try uploading fewer files at once.
Can't Download All Elevations as One PDF
Issue: A quote with multiple elevations needs to download as a single file, but each elevation downloads as a separate PDF.
Solution: PDF download works one elevation at a time; combining elevations into a single PDF isn't supported. To get all elevations in one file, export to a spreadsheet instead; this will include every elevation in one BFS-branded file. If a single combined PDF is required, download each elevation separately and combine the files outside myBLDR.
PDF Won't Load
Issue: A PDF opens but fails to load or display correctly in myBLDR.
Solution: Try the following steps:
Refresh the page and try opening the PDF again.
Try a hard reload by pressing Ctrl+F5.
Clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload myBLDR.
Try a different browser (Chrome or Edge are recommended).
Check the myBLDR status page for any known issues.
If the PDF still won't load after these steps, open a help desk ticket and include the name of the project or quote the PDF is associated with.
