Importing Master Set Quotes

Learn how to import a master set quote in myBLDR

Import an OnLine Spreadsheet

To import an OnLine spreadsheet for a master set quote:

  1. Navigate to the Materials module for the project.

  2. Select the Quote tab in the Quote Manager.

  3. Select Import and then choose BFS Material List.

  4. Select Auto-detect Elevations and Options from the Import Settings menu.

  5. Upload the OnLine spreadsheet.

  6. Select Import.

    The spreadsheet has been imported.

Note: If the spreadsheet contains multiple packs, the system recreates each pack as a separate pack in the quote rather than combining them into a single pack.

Overwrite Existing Quotes

If the project already has quotes, you can replace them with the tabs in your spreadsheet. When you do, myBLDR shows a confirmation screen listing every tab in your file next to the quote it will replace, so you can check the import before it runs.

The confirmation screen appears only when all three of the following are true:

  • The project already has at least one quote

  • You selected Overwrite Current Quote as the Import Type on the Import from File form

  • The file is a multi-tab Master Set spreadsheet, either the OnLine or the Bid Tools version

If any of those things aren't true, the import runs without the confirmation screen.

To overwrite existing quotes:

  1. On the Import From File form, select Overwrite Current Quote as the Import Type.

  2. Select your Import Settings and Pricing options, upload the file, then select Import. The Overwrite Confirmation screen appears.

  3. Review the Tab-to-Quote Match Preview. For each tab in your file, the Action column shows what the import will do:

    • Overwrite. The tab matched an existing quote by name, and the import will replace that quote's line items. Capitalization doesn't affect matching.

    • Import as New Quote. The tab didn't match an existing quote, so it's added to the project as a new quote.

  4. Select Confirm Import to run the import, or Cancel to return to the Import From File screen with your settings intact.
