About the Projects List
The Projects list shows all projects for a customer account. To open it, open a customer and select Projects from the toolbar.
The list includes the following columns:
Name. The project name.
Last Modified. The date and time of the most recent change to the project, such as an edited detail, a new document, or a quote update. This isn't the same as the project's creation date.
Labels. Any labels applied to the project. See "Organizing Projects with Communities and Labels" below.
Quote. The status of the project's quote, if one exists.
Contains Plans. Whether the project has an uploaded plan.
Actions. Options for the project, available from the ellipsis (…) menu. See "Using the Actions Menu" below.
The toolbar above the list also includes a download icon, the Find Project search bar, a Filter option, and a Create New Project button.
Organize Projects by Type
Projects are also organized by project type. Master Set projects appear in a dedicated section on the left side of the Project List, while Lot-Specific projects appear on the main Project List. Within each community, Master Set and Lot-Specific projects appear in separate groups.
To set a project's type:
In the Project Details form, find the Project Type field.
Select Master Set or Lot-Specific, as appropriate.
Select Save Project Details. The project appears in the correct section of the Project List.
Organize Projects with Communities and Labels
Communities and labels help organize projects in myBLDR. Because customers can see and create communities and projects, use clear, meaningful naming conventions for the builder.
Note: If the account uses communities, the Projects list opens to All Projects, which shows every project whether or not it's been sorted into a community. Search here before creating a new project to avoid duplicating one that already exists in a community.
Communities
Use the Communities pane to group projects by dragging them into a community.
All Projects. Displays all projects, whether or not they've been sorted into a community.
Unmapped. Displays any project that hasn't been sorted into a community.
Labels
When creating a project, you can apply standard or custom labels to help categorize it.
To create and add labels:
Go to Project Details.
After labels are applied, filter projects by label using the selection tool at the top of the Project List.
Note: Customers can see all project labels on their projects, so labels should make sense for the customer's organization.
Create a New Project
You can create projects manually from the Projects module as a Lot-Specific Project or a Master Set. Project creation, file upload, and service selection now happen in a single submission. Each step is optional, so you can create the project with as much or as little information as is available at the time.
In the customer's Projects module, select Create New Project.
Select Lot-Specific Project or Master Set.
Enter the project details, including the Name and any relevant Project Labels.
(Optional) Upload one or more files.
Select Create Project.
Note: Project names must be unique within the customer's account. Two projects can't share the same name.
Note: Only city, state, and zip code are required for the Location.
Tip: If you create an ERP job after setting up the project, you can link it at any time by going to Project Details and entering the job ID in the Job ID field.
Create a Project from an Existing ERP Job
To create a project from an existing ERP job:
In the Projects module, locate the ERP job ID you want to convert.
Select the Job ID. The job converts into a full project.
Create a Lot-Specific Project from Multiple Master Set Quotes
To combine multiple Master Set quotes into a single lot-specific project from the Master Set Quote tab:
Open the Master Set Quote tab.
Select Create Lot-Specific Quote. The Add Quotes to Project form appears.
Search or browse the available Master Set quotes. Select one or more quotes and select Next.
Select Elevations. Select a primary elevation from the unique elevations in the selected quotes. Quotes that include the primary elevation are automatically selected. For any quote that doesn't include the primary elevation, select another elevation for that quote.
Select Options. Review all options from the selected quotes. Choose Select All or select individual options. Each option shows which quotes it belongs to.
Select Next. The Select Project form appears.
Select New Project or Existing Project.
For an existing project, search for the project within the customer.
For a new project, enter a project name and complete all required fields: Community, Job ID, Address, City, State, and Zip.
Enter the project details.
Select Create. A notification appears confirming the project was created successfully.
Note: The Create Project button isn't available until you complete all required fields.
The Project Actions Menu
Select the ellipsis (…) on a project's row to open the Actions menu. The following options are available:
Edit Details. Updates the project's details, such as its address. See "Editing the Project Details" below.
Copy Project. Duplicates the project's details, settings, documents, quotes, and quote settings, either in the same account or in a different one.
Move Project. Moves the project to a different customer account. See "Moving a Project to a Different Account" below.
Merge. Combines two projects' files and details into a single project. See "Merging Projects" below.
Archive. Removes the project from the active view without deleting it. See "Archiving a Project" below.
Edit Details
To edit project details (like the project address):
Select the ellipsis (…) on the project's row.
Select Edit Details. The Project Details form appears.
Update any relevant fields, such as the Street Address.
Select Save Project Details. Changes are saved and reflected throughout the project.
Copy Project
Copying a project duplicates its details, settings, documents, quotes, and quote settings. The copy can stay in the same account or go into a different builder account. This is useful for associating copies of Master Set projects with communities without recreating them from scratch, and it works for any project type.
Note: This feature isn't available to builder users.
Note: Connections to Home Configure or Paradigm Estimate and any existing orders aren't included in the copy.
To copy a project:
Select the ellipsis (…) on the project's row.
Select Copy Project. The Copy Project form appears.
Select the project type: Lot Specific or Master Set.
Enter a Project Name.
(Optional) Select a different builder account from the account dropdown. The project copies into the current account by default.
Enter the Location details: Street Address / Job Description, City, State, and Zip.
Select Save.
Warning: A community doesn't carry over to a different account. If you copy a project out of a community, the copy lands in the Unmapped section of the destination account.
Move Project
To move a project to a different customer account:
Select the ellipsis (...) on the project's row.
Select Move Project. The Move project to a different account dialog opens.
Select the destination account from the Customer Account drop-down list.
Select Move Project.
Note: A project cannot be moved if any of the following conditions exist:
The project has orders on quotes.
The project is a delivered Configure project.
The project has Catalog setup.
The project is a Paradigm Estimate project.
Merge Projects
You can merge two projects to combine their files and details into a single project.
To merge a project:
Select the ellipsis (…) on the project to merge.
Select Merge.
In the list, select the Destination Project to merge into.
Select Merge Projects.
The projects merge, and all files and details appear in the destination project.
Note: The merge option is unavailable for projects that already have orders submitted. See the FAQ and the "Troubleshooting the Projects Module" article for more information.
Archive Project
You can't delete projects in myBLDR. To remove a project from your active view, rename it and archive it instead.
To archive a project:
Open the project and select Edit Details.
Update the Project Name to indicate that the project is no longer active, for example, "Trash - [Original Project Name]."
Select Save Project Details.
Archive the project.
Note: You can also delete any documents within the project before archiving it.
Find the Project Creation Date
The Projects list doesn't include a creation date column. To find when a project was created:
Open the project and select the Materials tab.
Select the chat bubble icon.
Scroll to the bottom of the chat. The project creation date appears there.
